@mohd95:
Well, I will not upload the source Code to greenfoot.
But if you want it, you can send me an email. :) (You can find my email-adress on my page!)
@shahparacha:
Well, I don't care very much, if you reupload my demo-scenarios, as long you don't upload the source code. But if you would reupload one of my games, I would let delete it... :)
Dang! Found a glitch
After being captured by orcs and exploring the dungeon, the basket elevator lowered onto my head. My character jumped on it, but when it reached the top, he kind of floated through the bottom and ended up hanging off of the floor of the basket. I couldn't move, and nothing else happned.
A new version of this scenario was uploaded on Mon Mar 24 13:10:54 UTC 2014
some bugs/glitches fixed
Still working on story...
I'm having a bit of difficulty with the game launching (kinda). It gets past all the credits, but then stops the scenario and I can't resume it. If I reload the page then it gets past it but says "You are NOT logged in Name:---", but I am, so as a result I cannot save. Is this supposed to happen (not finished) or is there something in my account profile that would help or anything like that?
Well, that sometimes happens on this website for all scenarios. There seems to be a problem with the greenfoot-side. You can try to restart the browser or to log out and log in again! ;)
The loading and saving-function is already done. :)
No matter what I do I get the same error...any ideas? How long is the game so far (for an average person), do you think? I could just try playing through in one sitting.
Well... I need about one hour to play the part, that's allready finished... And I already know, what exactly I have to do and I am able to control blind (a bit exaggerated ;). Therefore, you perhaps take a bit more time. :)
So that'll give me 2 or 3 hours to explore and have fun...not a problem! By the way, really great game - one of the best I've seen, so far, and being that I'm new here, this blew me away...literally, I was rolling down the street screaming for help.
(Get the metaphors? Still great, though! I can easily play through 5 or 6 hours straight on something I really enjoy!)
I think I may have found something...while swimming through the water with all those soldiers at the beginning, two of them got caught on a bit of rock underwater and stuck and drowned.
Also, I'm on a different computer, now, and it runs fine AND I can save! No idea what's wrong with my main computer, though....
Well, sometimes some of the soldiers die while swimming through the water, I know. But I thought, it might be funny and so it's not always the same. ;)
Building off of Unicus, would it be possible to implement a full-screen option to this scenario? I haven't seen any, online or offline, that allows that...I HAVE seen custom controls, however, and that would be highly appreciated if you would add that in in a future update.
Thanks
Also, about the part with the soldiers drowning, when it happened to me they were caught for a long time, making it seem like they did it on purpose (I know that's not it, but you know what I mean, I'm sure). Are there other times when it's a bit more believable when they drown? If not, that could be something to implement - a little modification to the cave in which if you don't do it right, you could die or almost die (you don't need all your health then, anyway, and it will regenerate before you need it)? That would make it a bit more believable that they drowned instead of deciding to take too long of a dive...
Well, I programmed different 'actions', which an object can do. And when the left or right key is pressed, I set the action of the Men to the 'walk-action'. And when the men is in the walk-action, he walks to the side, he's facing to and with his current walking-speed. And untill noother key is pressed, the men stays in this action and moves forwards. :)
Well, I'm doing that with a small trick.
The images are being created in a separated thread. When the Ram overflows, the Thread throws an error and stops. And then I easily display the messages. ;)
The game is working. Open this scenario: http://www.greenfoot.org/scenarios/12380 Do you get a red screen? You might want to look at this discussion http://www.greenfoot.org/topics/8200/ and follow the steps.
I would like to continue working on it, because I like this game and I'm very proud of it. I even got the biggest part of the next mission ready. The main problem is, that I don't have so much time any more and my programming style changed extremly and became much more proffessional. So it's a very big mess to get in the code again.
Another big problem is, that Greenfootgallery only allows 20mb-games. (Please correct me, if this changed), so each map is expensive... And I also dont have much more room to save some bits...
