BerryBoo Cafe is a bakery and beverage simulation game developed in Java using the Greenfoot application. The game centers on a culinary business that serves a variety of strawberry and matcha creations. It is inspired by Cooking Fever, a game already available on the Greenfoot website. We modified it in terms of gameplay, ingredients, and the roles of the actors within it.
The game brings to life a bakery kitchen filled with elements such as a chef, customers, tables, ingredients, and cooking equipment including an oven and a blender. Three signature menu items define the game: Strawberry Matcha Cake, Strawberry Matcha Milk, and Matcha Latte. Each item uses a different combination of ingredients, which adds variety to the culinary theme.
The development of BerryBoo Cafe aims not only to create an engaging game, but also to serve as a way to apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. Concepts such as class, object, encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction, and polymorphism are applied in designing the game’s components, so that each object has a structure and responsibility suited to its function.
Please enjoy this game:)
