Does Oracle pay Greenfoot? If not who does? Why is Greenfoot called Greenfoot if it has nothing to do with eco stuff?

Good stuff it is not any watermelon bullshit(green outside, red/marxist inside). Info: http://www.greenfoot.org/overview https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenfoot But sorry. I was hoping something better of this project but you wont actually learn how to program or actually learn java using this. Mainly because use constructivist theory in pedagogy what is just a cultural marxist theory about learning which has proven through decade to be ineffective and dumbing down the apprentice. The problem, obvious problem, is you are thrown with the tools without a teacher and actual explanation. You start, theoretically, by using intuition what can take you not far. It is only a good play. Nothing more. It is like LOGO. Just doesn't work. Search for real programming classes, maybe online, and java courses.

Braga, I'm not sure what you've been smoking, but it appears to have screwed with your head.

carhad, yes, Oracle supports the development of Greenfoot financially. The name Greenfoot comes from the idea of "first steps" into programming (foot) and the color Green is often used to refer to something or someone that is new. Green doesn't necessarily mean related to the ecosystem or environment in any context.

Most of the knowledge I gained about programming has come from the Internet and books, I have only just got into a school which allows me to learn computing a few weeks ago and I am a the top of my class.

Most people will only be able to learn how to program if they actually want to learn how to program. Most people don't end up learning how o program because you normally start off making words appear on a screen which usually appears boring to the average kid. This is why things like Greenfoot was made so kids can do more interesting things making them want to learn more. So the theoretical conclusion is that more kids will learn how to program java using tools like Greenfoot because they want to learn more, but less will achieve this with a more advanced compiler because they will find it boring and will avoid trying to learn java.

Duta: Braga, I'm not sure what you've been smoking, but it appears to have screwed with your head. Ignorance is a bliss. Keep living online defying others in stupid scores ranking. I don't care. You know nothing about pedagogy, philosophy, history or politics. Maybe, that is the life you want to live. The information are there. You have internet. I know you are only a kid, but it is not my problem. Grow up before start shitting around.
