Update: I alternated vowels and consonants so you always get a pronouncable word.

At the moment, these are more like random combinations of characters than random words - I can't see many people pronouncing nzvnbq for example! I wrote a similar program a long while back and came across a similar problem, but found out the "secret" - alternate vowels and consonants, starting with the latter. That way you get sequences of characters you can pronounce!

How would I alternate vowels and consonants?

You seem to have worked it out! However, remember u is also a consonant :)

Incidentally, it's not alternating all the time - I've just got siiaqa. OK to pronounce, but u always follows q, and there's 2 i's in a row!
