You are still missing some important things -- like (1) how to determine when the name has been completely entered and (2) allowing only 1-character string input to be concatenated to the name. Also, there is no apparent visual clues as to where the input is taking place at (or which name is being entered). Is this something the world is dealing with somehow?

Option 1: Not a problem if you created it in the prepare method. Option 2 and 3 are basically the same. I don't know what exactly this has to do with nesting objects though.

I tested it a bit. Sometimes it actually happens that getMouseInfo returns null even though you have a mousePressed condition before. Didn't really figure it out why or how exactly it happens, but sometimes it happens right at the beginning. Seems to be a bug, but can't reproduce it in a reliable way yet.

Well, there are some things with your code that do not make sense. Line 22 in the Hero code above uses such a small range, for one. However, I am not exactly sure why you assign a value to onRock in that way. Better might be: <Code Omitted>-- al

If you have a field like this <Code Omitted>then every object of this class will have its own variable speed. If an object adjusts its speed, then only this object will be affected, no other objects of the same class. On the other hand, if you use the static keyword <Code Omitted>then every object of the class will share this variable with each other. So in your case, you should be able to get the results you want without using a static speed variable.
