When i write code and try to run the program greenfoot sometimes locks up. I then have to close greenfoot and then restart greenfoot before i can run the new code.

You have a very old version of the JDK. I suggest you update and see if you still experience problems.

Make sure you run Greenfoot with the new JDK - the easiest way is to uninstall the old JDK, but you can also run the "select VM" utility from the start menu.
