Simple question. Have you tried creating a small and simple version of your project first and then upload it? If this works, then move the other files in until uploading breaks? Just a thought.
well that is basically my thought behind erasing levels and sounds and things. i mean i guess i could try to erase even more stuff. But that that would just be a bummer. I'm uploading an old project right now just to test out the upload. But yeah thanks for the suggestion, I guess that might be what I have to do unfortunately.
No.. Don't delete anything! :) I would do this:
1) Find the project folder on your hard drive and rename it
2) Create a new project folder with the same name as the old
3) Put a simple image on the new project world and publish
4) Check it uploads and works
5) Copy classes from your old project to your new one, file by file. Recompile to make sure it works and then upload.
If you are having problems, I would assume your main problem is going to be artwork sizes. So I would only put these up when required..
Hmm I will definitely give this a try right now and let you know how it goes. Thanks a bunch sp33dy!!
Your space panda is uploaded and looks really neat.. :)
By the way, when I say copy from one project to the other. You can do that in the windows explorer and then refresh the greenfoot project (close and then open again). I've noticed it then picks up the files..
Looks like that worked man! thanks so much! now Im gona try and get some of the old stuff back in there. You rock man thank you =)
Hey, that's great news. Looks like a neat game, can't wait for the rest to appear!
I think, you can't upload a scenario with more than 20 MB.
One of my uploaded scenarios, called 'Castle Attack' has 19MB.
The version on my Computer has 22 MB, because there I've got more music... And if I try to upload the 22MB- Version, I get "Published Failed. Scenario too large", too....
oooh ok thank you that is very useful information. i guess i wont be using wav files then =)
Yes 20MB is the file size limit, and I would definitely recommend using only mp3, as they are many times more space efficient than Wav files. I used to have the same problem as you with my Nightmare scenario, but then I switched to mp3 files and now I have more than enough space to spare ^^
mhh... Do you've got a programm for changing Wav files to mp3?
Use Audacity to convert the files from Wav to mp3. It's free and is used by a lot of people.
I agree ^^^ this is a great piece of software and doesn't have all the extra malware stuff (well the version I have hasn't).. :)
Thank you!
Do you also know a programm for converting midi files to mp3?
