I've gotten a new laptop some time ago, installed JDK and ran Greenfoot without any problem. The problem is that I can't look at any of the scenarios in the Gallery. Any help, please?

Speaking of that, I also updated the Greenfoot, and now I am getting a compiler warning stating "recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details."

I get that error too. It doesn't seem to affect anything though, just minimize it and forget about it... As for looking at scenarios on the gallery, I believe I'm having the same problem. The java applet loads but then the window turns green or black and remains that way for quite some time. The java console window shows no issues though. Is this the problem you're having?

Is there a particular scenario that is not loading for the two of you, or is it just all of them? For example, I can play this scenario of DonaldDuck's just fine, can both of you?

By the way, on what action is "recompile with -Xlint:unchecked for details." a reaction?

to colorfulteen, When I compile it (similarly, I had similar happenings with jMonkey, although it doesn't mean anything on the actual stuff AFAIK). And to nccb, no, nothing works. All scenario don't load.

Oh, and to DonaldDuck, mine doesn't even yield a Java applet window, especially a WTF since java applets on other sites such as the colorado physics site works just fine.

limefortheworld, try clearing your Web browser cache ("Temporary internet files" in Internet Explorer speak) and Java cache (see http://www.java.com/en/download/help/plugin_cache.xml). Exit your browser before you clear the Java cache, and start it again afterwards.

I tried that. It doesn't help.

limefortheworld, anything in the Java console?

I do have a slight problem: I can't even get to the console itself.

Why not? I mean, what happens when you try?

I don't have the Java icon at the bottom right side of the taskbar.

How about the alternative method: Control panel / Java / "Advanced" tab / Java console / select Show console, click "apply".

forgot to say I did that too. Neither case yielded a console for strange reason, and I tried installing JRE for both 6u27 and 7 but still without any results.
