The most common problem with opening the wombat scenario is that it is installed in a read-only directory. Make sure it is somewhere where you have write access (that is: copy it into your own folder if it isn't already). You cannot use a scenario without write permission to its folder.

What do you see when you click on the 'open' under 'scenarios'? That is, what is the name of the folder you currently show and what file and folder icons do you see within that folder? This kind of information may help in determining what you might need to do.

It's in the "scenarios" folder, which is in the folder that Greenfoot was installed to (so eg C:\Program Files\Greenfoot).

Man, does anybody know an easy way to make read-only folders not read-only? The changes in the "properties" of the folder doesn't work. It seems that every rookie has the same problem with this. Do you really have to re-save each scenario one by one from the greenfoot environment? When the whole directory book-scenarios is moved, the read-only attribute stays and won't be removed.

If you create a 'new folder' in your 'My Documents folder' and name it 'scenarios', then 'select all' the files in /Greenfoot/scenarios/ and copy them to the new folder (as a group, meaning: in one single copy/paste command), you should be able to open and edit them from there.
