I present you Procaryota it's a Space Invaders alike with fresh graphics made by my girlfriend.

The next update I will bring to my game are listed here:

I'm impressed by this game. I never really thought of Java as a language suitable for making games (I always thought that because it's a managed language, it wouldn't be fast enough to compete with languages like C/C++). I'm going to try my hand at making one now. Good work!
