New: The Greenfoot Gallery
We are very please to announce the official opening of the Greenfoot Gallery. Scenarios can be exported directly from Greenfoot to the Gallery, where the rest of the world can then see them, learn from them, and comment.

A short intro to Greenfoot programming
We have added a Quick Intro to Greenfoot Programming to our documentation. This is intended for people who already have a little experience with programming and want to get to know some of the basics of Greenfoot quickly.

Greenfoot 1.4.5
This new version of Greenfoot contains numerous bugfixes and improvements. The most significant change is the new export dialogue that lets you publish scenarios to the beta version of the Greenfoot Gallery site. Complete list of new features. Download.

WaveLab Scenario
Try out a simple physics simulation with the WaveLab. This example shows how easy it is to simulate some scientific content in Greenfoot. See an online demo, or download the scenario.

Greenfoot and "Change Blindness"
Cay Horstmann describes using Greenfoot for an interesting psychological experiment: Investigating the phenomenon of "Change Blindness". As he writes: ... it shows that Greenfoot can do a lot more than have crabs eat sandworms :-)

Greenfoot Scenario, labs and worksheets
Qusay H. Mahmoud from the University of Guelph has published a Greenfoot scenario he uses for his teaching: Going to the Moon. His web page contains very detailed information, including an introduction, PowerPoint slides, labs and - of course - source code. Contact him for details.

New scenario available: Net
Here is a little new scenario called "net" to give you an idea how to simulate some physics. Source code is available.

PCPro article with Greenfoot walkthrough
British Computing magazine PC Pro has recently published an article discussing the lack of programming in secondary schools. The third page of that article includes an easy, short walkthrough to developing a simple game with Greenfoot. Have a look!

New tutorial video: Using mouse input
A new tutorial video is available that demonstrates how to write a scenario that reacts to mouse events (such as mouse clicks or mouse movement). Click the link to view, or right-click to download. More videos are on the tutorial video page.

Greenfoot and Media Computation
Cay Horstmann has started bringing examples from the "media computation" approach, pioneered by Mark Guzdial, to Greenfoot. This looks like a very interesting approach, slightly different in character from many of the game-like approaches we have seen before, so have a look at his description.

Greenfoot event at SIGCSE 2008
